The Future of Workspaces

The Future of Workspaces

“Honk Honk!!!”… Stuck in traffic when you have a meeting to attend? Can you feel the pulses of your heartbeats inside your head? Is frustration building up due to the chaos outside? These things are going to be passé. As technology is evolving even as you are reading this article, the future of workspaces will be ‘On the move’.
The continuous development of technology coupled with shortage of real estate and the possibility of storing data in the cloud have resulted in minimum requirement of office space. The concept of paperless office has virtually led to the reduced requirement of office space. All these have resulted in the emergence of co-working spaces which has the advantage of economy and hassle-free maintenance of utilities. Startups and non-manufacturing firms have embraced this concept wholeheartedly.

With the acceptance of BYOD, i.e. Bring Your Own Device, the data accessibility has become device-agnostic. Anyone can access data anytime from anywhere, while ensuring the data security.
With the emergence of Industrial Revolution 4.0, technological innovations like connected cars and IoT will make work possible even while on the move. The day is not far when a meeting/conference can be attended while driving in the chaotic traffic of Mumbai with a client located in a different hemisphere of the globe.
The future workspaces will blur the lines between home and office, leading to work-life integration rather than work-life balance. With ever-increasing internet bandwidth getting economical, the future generation will be virtually connected 24X7, thus breaking the geographical barriers.
Most recent technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality will become a routine in the daily working lives of people. Hence the future mantra is going to be Connect. Create. Collaborate.
